FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • How do l have my child/ren photographed?

To have your child/ren photographed, please read through the following FAQ’s below. Once completed please fill in the registration form by clicking the register now button.

  • What are the costs involved in having my child/ren photographed?

All families must pay a deposit to have your child/children photographed. The deposit is as follows:

    $25 for one child
$40 for more than one child

This deposit is deductible from your total order once you place it. However, if an order is not placed, the deposit is non-refundable. Deposits are forfeited if orders are not placed within three months from the due date. Deposits will be refunded if your child is unwell and can not attend the photography week.

  • I only want to purchase a group photograph; do I need to register my child/children?

Yes, even if you only want a group photograph, you still need to fill out a registration form. This is to ensure that you receive a gallery of the group photos for your child. Simply tick the appropriate box indicating that you only want a group photo, and no deposit is required for this.

  • When will my child be photographed?

Your child will be photographed on the day specified in the SMS sent to you the Friday prior to the photography week. This SMS will also confirm that your registration form has been received.

  • What if you aren’t attending on the day I have selected as my preferred photo day?

If we are unable to accommodate your preferred photo day due to scheduling constraints, we will photograph your child on another day they attend. If your child does not attend on any of the days we are taking photos, we will contact you to discuss alternative arrangements.

  • What if I want to register but have missed the cutoff date?

If you have missed the cutoff date for registering, please contact us via email as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your request.

  • Do I need to choose what I would like to order prior to seeing my photos?

You do not need to choose what you would like to order until you receive your gallery after photography takes place.

  • My child is shy around strangers or doesn’t like having their photo taken, can you still take their photo?

Some children become unsettled when they see a new face or they may not like having their photograph taken. We are happy for you to register your child still, and we will try our best to win them over with some of our special tricks.

However, sometimes even our best attempts might not work. If a child is distressed by having their photo taken, we will not persist. A refund will be offered if we are unsuccessful. We will communicate everything with you and take it slow to make the experience as comfortable as possible for your child. This may also apply for the group photos.

It’s a good idea to talk to your child about photo week, what we will be doing and that we will have BIG cameras, as this is usually something they are not used to.

Please note on your registration form any difficulties you think your child may have during photography. We will do our best to accommodate their needs.

During the week of photography

  • What time will you be photographing my child/ren?

We do not schedule a time for children to be photographed, rather we will only provide you with the day.

This is because each child arrives at different times, or might take a longer or shorter period of time to have their photos taken.

We will be photographing children prior to their lunchtime so we request that children arrive before 9am (for childcares) or at the time of their session (for kinder), so that we have ample time to photograph them, especially if they require time to settle.

Children who do not attend the Centre by this time may miss out on being photographed or being in the group photo.

  • Do you take group photos every day?

Group photographs will be conducted in every room on the days we attend, as required. This ensures that your child has an opportunity to appear in at least one group photo. However, please note that if there are no children in a particular room being photographed on that day, a group photo will not be taken for that room.

  • What happens if my child is absent or sick on their photo day?

If your child is absent or sick on their photo day, please notify us by sending an SMS to 0401 487 104. We will coordinate with you to see if it’s possible to do your child’s photos another day. If this is not possible, we will refund your deposit.

  • I have more than one child; can l have a photo of them together?

Sibling photographs are taken as standard, so there’s no need to request this. If you have registered more than one child, we will take photos of them together.

  • What should l dress my child in on the day of their photos?

As your child/ren are in a childcare or kindergarten setting, it is best to dress them in clothes they are used to wearing in this environment.

We do our best to get to children as quickly as we can, however sometimes they can get dirty before we get there. It is a good idea to put additional clothing in their bag, so we can change them if this happens.

Do not ask staff to let us know; instead, inform us directly via your pre-registration form. We will ensure that we photograph them on the day they are dressed and as quickly as possible.
