Kinder & Childcare Photography
Need to knows
How do l have my child/ren photographed?
To have your child/ren photographed, you must read & agree to the terms & conditions and complete the registration form information including paying the deposit.
This form can be found under Kinder & Childcare – Registration on our website.
What are the costs involved?
All families must pay a deposit to have your child/ren photographed.
The deposit is as follows:
– $20 for one child
– $30 for more than one childThis deposit is deductible from your total order once placed.
However, if an order is not placed, the deposit is non-refundable.
If your child is unwell and cannot attend, your deposit will be refunded.
Do I need to register my child/children for only a class photograph?
Yes! If you would like to purchase a class photograph only, you will need to fill out a registration form so we have your consent.
It also ensures that a gallery of the class photos for your child is sent to you.
Simply tick the appropriate box on the registration form indicating that you only want a class photo.
You will not be required to pay a deposit for this.
Please refer to your individual childcare centre or kindergarten communication about whether class photos will be conducted.
When will my child be photographed?
You’ll receive an SMS and email reminder on the Friday morning of the week before your child’s photography day, confirming your registration and the scheduled date.
If you haven’t received it by 11am that Friday, please contact us ASAP.
What if my child does not attend on the day l have been scheduled?
If your child does not attend on any of the days we are taking photos, please contact us and we will discuss alternative arrangements.
What if I missed the cutoff date?
If you have missed the cutoff date for registering, please contact us via email as soon as possible.
We will do our best to accommodate your request.
My child is shy around strangers or doesn’t like having their photo taken, can you still take their photo?
Some children become unsettled when they see a new face, or they may not like having their photograph taken.
We are more than happy for you to register your child, and we will try our best to win them over with some of our special tricks.
If however, our best attempts don’t work and your child is distressed by having their photo taken, we will not persist.
A refund will be offered if we are unsuccessful.
We will communicate everything with you and take it slow to make the experience as comfortable as possible for your child. This may also apply for the group photos.
It’s a good idea to talk to your child about photo week, what we will be doing and that we will have BIG cameras, as this is usually something they are not used to.
We have made a special video and social story for children who are shy of strangers & for all of our neurodivergent kids, to get them familiar about what will happen on the day.
Please feel free to show them this prior to us attending.
Please note on your registration form any difficulties you think your child may have during photography.
We will do our best to accommodate their needs.
During photography
What time will you be photographing my child/ren?
We do not schedule a time for children to be photographed, rather we will only provide you with the day.
This is because each child arrives at different times, or might take a longer or shorter period of time to have their photos taken.
We will be photographing children prior to their lunchtime so we request that children arrive before 9am (for childcares) or at the time of their session (for kinder), so that we have ample time to photograph them, especially if they require time to settle.
Children who do not attend the Centre by this time may miss out on being photographed or being in the group photo.
Do you take group photos every day?
Group photographs will be conducted in every room on the days we attend, as required.
This ensures that your child has an opportunity to appear in at least one group photo.
However, please note that if there are no children in a particular room being photographed on that day, a group photo will not be taken for that room.
Please note depending on how settled the children & sleep routines in the younger rooms, will depend on if we are able to complete a group photo.
All children will be included in the group photo from that room, unless we have specifically been told they should not to be.
What happens if my child is absent or sick on their photo day?
If your child is absent or sick on their photo day, please notify us by sending an SMS to 0401 487 104.
We will coordinate with you to see if it’s possible to do your child’s photos another day.
If this is not possible, we will refund your deposit.
I have more than one child; can l have a photo of them together?
Sibling photographs are taken as standard, so there’s no need to request this.
If you have registered more than one child, we will take photos of them together.
What should l dress my child in on the day of their photos?
As your child/ren are in a childcare or kindergarten setting, it is best to dress them in clothes they are used to wearing in this environment.
We do our best to get to children as quickly as we can, however sometimes they can get dirty before we get there.
It is a good idea to put additional clothing in their bag, so we can change them if this happens.
Children should arrive at the centre/kinder dressed and ready for photos.
Do not ask educators to change your children into an outfit. We can ask them to change your child once they have had photos, but they should arrive dressed ready to be photographed.
Any instructions, such as “no jacket”, “green jumper off” etc. need to be communicated directly with us either via email or your pre-registration form.
We will ensure that we photograph them on the day they are dressed and as quickly as possible.
